Ministry of Transportation (MTO) - Sarnia Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility (CVIF)
The Occupational Health & Safety Act requires in workplaces at which the number of workers regularly exceeds five and at which no joint health and safety committee is required, employers must ensure that workers select a health and safety representative.
This representative works with management to address workplace health and safety issues. The representative attends meetings, and undertake workplace inspections, to identify and help resolve health and safety issues that may exist.
If you have any concern/comments about health and safety issues in the CVIF, and you are an MTO employee, please contact the OPSEU Local 139 Health and Safety Representative here.
